Designation Software Development Engineer
Job Description Role:
This position is for a development engineer for the McAfee Consumer Web Development team. The
candidate will be responsible for design development and maintenance of various projects executed
by the Web Development team. As a Software Development Engineer perform tasks that include web
development and maintenance. Responsibilities include gathering requirements, development, and
execution of projects.
Primary Responsibilities:
Able to convert a problem statement to a design and implementation.
Ability to interpret architecture and provide implementation documents.
Support the junior members of the team in providing technical and product level and technical skill level mentorship and guidance.
Able to code major components of a product.
Very good knowledge of multiple relevant technologies.
Provides technical direction for Application sub-system, and/or application research, design, analysis, testing, process improvement, and troubleshooting.
In depth understanding of the Project Life Cycle.
Accurate estimation of timescales for their work.
Excellent problem solving skills.
Able to document details of functionality, design and architecture of a component.
Ability to review technical documentation during inspections.
In depth knowledge of overall product.
Able to do weekly code reviews with engineers.
Is able to understand impact of code changes- both programmable and logical changes.
Is able to piece together relevant existing functionality and quickly come up with a prototype or solution.
Acts as a key technical resource to members outside of the team on technical issues relating to their area of knowledge.
Facilitate or host reviews on Application source code and technical documentation
Desired Profile Qualifications
Required Experience/Skills & Qualifications:
3-5 years of Software development experience working in all application tiers (data, business, presentation).
Highly proficient in .Net: C#, ASP.Net, XML, XSL, T-SQL, SQL Server 2005/2008.
Knowledge of AJAX, JQuery.
Good at writing SQL and SQL optimization for high volume databases
Must have in-depth working knowledge of debugging in ASP, ASP .Net environment
Must have the passion to work with technology and complex systems
Experience in analysing requirements, able to understand impact on existing systems and come up with an all-encompassing solution
passion to work with demanding customers
Good written and verbal communications skills and must be a strong team player.
Good knowledge and expertise in building multi lingual systems
Worked on building high traffic internet based web applications
Good understanding of coding best practices and standards
Worked with software configuration management systems
Able to independently designed and implemented solutions or modules in a project.
Able to clearly document, user stories/use cases, functional specification and design
Qualification : BE/BTech/MTech Computer Science preferred
Preferred Skills:
Experience in software source control systems such as ACCUREV is preferred.
Knowledge of ASP and related COM+ technologies will be a plus.
